7:30 PM Guv’nor Pub on
In the 1970’s John Ramwell was part of two groups
that attempted to make the first crossing of the North Sea from England to
Belgium. The distance of 98 nautical
miles is across one of the most unpredictable stretches of water in the
world. We are very fortunate to have the
opportunity to hear John’s story of this pioneering sea kayak journey. For more information contact: John Ramwell
at goldie35@eastlink.ca.
January 18th, 2012 Newfoundland’s South Coast Crew Part 2
7:30 PM Guv’nor Pub on
During the summer of 2011, Richard Alexander and Ian
Fong teamed up with Jeff Martin and Corey Locke to finish paddling
Newfoundland’s entire south coast. This
trip continued on from a previous sea kayak trip in 2009 from Hermitage to Grey
River on Newfoundland’s south coast. The
four paddlers took the ferry from Burgeo to Grey
River and immediately set out for a week of paddling hoping to make it all the
way to Port-aux-Basques by the end of the week.
For more information contact: Corey Locke at coreylocke@bellaliant.net.

stories about their own Lure of the Labrador Wild experience. For more information contact: TA Loeffler at taloeffler@gmail.com.
March 14th,
2012: Trips from the Past

doesn’t make it any less interesting.
Members of our paddling community have tripped and paddled almost every
river and stretch of coastline and even some places further afield. Join the paddling community for an afternoon
of old fashioned slide projectors, stories and some reminiscing about trips
from yesteryear.
The
lineup includes:

Richard Alexander – 3 weeks up the West Coast
of Greenland by sea kayak
Linda Bartlett – Whitewater Kayaking in Nepal
