Wildlife seen: minke whales, bald eagles, black guillemots, river otters, jelly fish, sea urchins, tomcod (on the end of Eric's jigger), etc.
Sorry, I didn't take more photos of you individually. There may be a few more on another roll that's not developed yet. I had intended a group shot, but missed the opportunity prior to Sunday launch. For visitors to this page who did not participate in the paddle, several settlements used to be situated on Ireland's Eye Island - Ivanhoe, Traytown, Ireland's Eye, Black Duck Cove, and Broad Cove. European occupation of the island dates back to the 1600s. The island's inhabitants had been resettled by 1965. Today, only a few cabins and fishing stations remain (e.g. at Traytown).
